Obama wins historic landslide
victory over John McCain

Well done,
guys! You went all the way to the White House
We want to write it now because
we feel it in our bones, we sense the victory coming. All the
signs are good. Obama's campaign, his millions of supporters, are
running high on energy and will not rest until victory is theirs.
This election is historic. Remember
it well (journal, take pictures, record). The United States of America is about to elect its first
black president, overcoming years and years of racial division and
prejudice.
The people of this great country
aspire to a better, more hopeful future, where we are united rather than divided into us and them.
We commiserate with Sen. John
McCain, who is a good, honorable man, but whose campaign, led by
Steve Schmidt, got lost in erratic decision-making, smears, and
ugly attacks.
McCain's running mate, Gov. Sarah Palin, did a
marvelous, but unintentional job, of helping McCain to defeat. Her
lack of experience, her extremism, arrogance, and attempts at
character assassination were, thank goodness, not rewarded by the voters.
While Obama's career is just
beginning, Sen. McCain's is almost over. What will he do next?
Surely he has no desire to return to the Senate after giving his
all in the presidential campaign.
Sarah Palin is unlikely to return
to Wasilla, Alaska. Perhaps she will move to D.C. or New York and
be schooled and mentored by the likes of Bill Kristol to become a
more articulate and polished performer in 2012. In 2008, she
simply wasn't good enough.
We congratulate Barack Obama and
Joe Biden on running a superb campaign. All of us who supported
Obama during this long battle can congratulate ourselves and party
long into the nights ahead.
This is truly a time to remember and savor!
