Soccer, love, and vuvuzelas
We ask a panel of men and women to name the hottest stars at the World Cup in South Africa. It's a difficult task with so many top bods on display, but we have narrowed it down to 10 names. Sorry there's no David Beckham. He's injured and not playing.

Soccer players have the ideal physique. They are not skinny like marathon runners. Nor are they steroid beefcakes like American football players in the NFL.
In American football, there's three seconds of action followed by five minutes of doing nothing except lining up. That goes on for three hours, making the NFL the most boring sporting spectacle in the world.
Of course, the Americans love it because it allows them to be world champions at a sport only they play. They should take more interest in their soccer team, which is pretty good. They got a great 1-1 result against England when all the pundits expected them to lose.
It's funny how Brits hate American sports, and Americans think that European sports are dull as ditchwater. I don't think we will ever understand each other's sports.
American goalie Tim Howard is a real hunk of guy. He is an ultimate sexy athlete.

The great thing about the World Cup is that the entire world is watching -- except America of course, who are only interested in their own sports.
Imagine, every nation in the world, even the crazy dictatorships like Zimbabwe and North Korea, are following the World Cup with extreme interest.
In tiny villages in India, Nepal, and Bolivia, people are crowding around the available televisions to get a glimpse of this fantastic spectacle.
The World Cup is huge. It's bigger than the Olympics and it makes the Super Bowl look like a block party.
My vote for hottest soccer star goes to veteran French striker Thierry Henry, who plays for Barcelona in Spain.

I love the World Cup. It is always good news for Germany. Even if we don't win the World Cup, we always do well because we are a great tournament team. We rise to the big occasion.
It is very funny to see our rivals, England, fail time and time again. They go into each championship expecting to reach the final but they can easily lose against teams like Algeria or Switzerland.
I don't think of any players in the German squad as being hot. I guess all of them are hotter than England's Wayne Rooney, but that is not difficult.
Of all the Germans who have played for their country, there is no doubt the hottest is Lothar Herbert Matthaus. He was definitely David Beckham standard. Lothar has been married four times, so I guess you could say the chicks love him.

It is very funny to ask me to name a hot football player. I am a man and I do not thing of other men as hot. Women are hot, do you see my point?
What I can do for you is name the best player and you can decide for yourselves whether he is hot or not.
I vote for Didier Drogba of the Ivory Coast, or perhaps I should say Cote D'Ivoire to use the French name. Did you know the team is also called The Elephants.
Didier Drogba is a strong player, one of the strongest in the world. It is so difficult to win the ball from him.
He plays for Chelsea in London, which is one of the best teams in the world. He is probably the best African player, with the possible exception of Samuel Eto of Barcelona and Cameroon.

So many of the hottest players are not at this World Cup. They are either injured, their country did not qualify, or they have retired.
I would vote for Henrik Larsson and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, both Swedish.
Henrik Larsson, who has retired, had a fantastic career with Celtic, Barcelona, and Manchester United, finishing his career with Helsingborg in Sweden. He was sexy and a true gentleman.
Zlatan plays for Barcelona. He has not been hugely successful there, but he did a fantastic job for Ajaz, Juve, and Inter.
It is a real shame Sweden did not qualify for the Wold Cup. Zlatan would have been one of the best players in the tournament.
Geoff, Glasgow
Scotland, who are perenial under-achievers, did not qualify for this World Cup.
That does not stop me mentioning Scotland in my choice of hot football players.
This will probably come as a surprise but I am going to vote for Algerian international Madjid Bougherra of Glasgow Rangers. He also played for Sheffield Wednesday and Charlton in England.
He would even make it onto a list of hot Scottish guys because he is tough and manly. He looks rugged. He's kinda ugly-handsome, if you know what I mean? He is not a pretty boy like David Beckham.
I also lke the style of New Zealander Rory Fallon. He plays for lowly Plymouth Argyle in England, but I guess you don't have to be that good to make the New Zeland national team. It would be fun to see them go far in World Cup.
As for likely World Cup winners, I say Argentina. They have looked really impressive. Germany look good, too.
England, despite all the hype, do not stand a chance. They will be lucky to make it to the quarter finals. They are worse than Scotland.

I am Belgian so therefore my favorite player is Jan Ceulemans, the most-capped Belgian player of all time.
He played for Lierse and Brugge. He played 96 times for his country and scored 23 goals.
Ceuleman's greatest achievements with Belgium were a second place at Euro 1980 and 4th place at the 1986 World Cup. I remember a fantastic 5-4 penalty shootout win against Spain. The 4-3 victory against the Soviet Union was a highpoint for Belgian football.
But that's enough history. At this World Cup I expect Brazil and Argentina to do well. I think Spain will come good after a weak start where they lost to Switzerland.
The hottest player? That's difficult, but I vote for Cristian Ronaldo of Portugal.

England under the leadership of Italian manager Fabio Capello are said to be one of the favorites to win the World Cup. I can't see that happen.
England will disappoint us as they always do. We are not even guaranteed of progressing from the group stages.
Now that pretty boy David Beckham is out of the team, it is difficult to name a hot English football player. Who's in contention? Wayne Rooney?
I'll do something dangerous for a Brit and recommend you to keep your eye on one of the Argentine players: Gonzal Higuain. He's a lethal goalscorer who's guaranteed to shine at the World Cup.
I see Argentina as pretty strong favorites to win the World Cup. They have a great team coached by former superstar Maradona.

I love watching the World Cup and all the hot football stars.
Norway is not playing this time, which is good in some ways. It means I can enjoy all the teams and all the games without getting too nervous. I am paying extra attention to Denmark, Holland, and Portugal.
There are a lot of really sexy soccer players at the World Cup.
My favorite is Ronaldo of Portugal, who is also the world's most expensive soccer star. He transferred from Manchester United to Real Madrid for $132 million. David Villa of Barcelona and Spain is also hot.

As a Greek, I think you underestimate the Greek team at your peril.
Look at how we beat Nigeria when everyone expected us to lose.
I am not saying we could win the whole tournament. That is asking too much, but we could reach the semi-finals. Remember we won the Euros in 2004 against hosts and favorites Portugal.
The best looking player in the world is a Greek called Loukas Vyntra, who was actually born in Czechoslovakia, as it was called then, of a Czech father and Greek mother.
